The ability to connect beyond the lecture hall

CANVAS IS THE VLE THAT IS ALWAYS THERE WHEN YOU NEED IT. JUST ASK THE UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM.

THE UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM EXPECTED ITS TRANSITION TO CANVAS TO TAKE 18 MONTHS. IT TOOK JUST THREE.

Canvas combines the power of cloud computing with a refreshingly easy-to-use interface. Which explains why it took the University of Birmingham just five days to customise and configure its new VLE. And why, within three months of launch, there were 4,600 courses on Canvas. That’s more than had been available in the penultimate year of the previous platform. “We looked at every single platform out there,” says Pro Vice Chancellor John Heath. “What amazed me was that when people got their hands on Canvas they became very excited very quickly.”
