SWITCHES AND ROUTERS OneConnect OCe14000

Emulex has launched the OneConnect OCe14000 family of 10GbE and 40GbE Network Adapters and 10GbE Converged Network Adapters (CNAs). They enable higher virtual machine (VM) densities, and support secure hybrid clouds with virtual network fabrics. The RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) low latency architecture delivers application acceleration and provides an open application performance interface (API) that integrates with next generation software-defined networking (SDN) solutions. The OneCommand Manager application

provides centralised management of Emulex OneConnect adapters and LightPulse Fibre Channel HBAs throughout the data centre from a single management console. The fully integrated OneCommand Manager for VMware vCenter

Metro 100G

Transmode has launched a CFP-based all- pluggable 100G solution for Metro networks with support for coherent optics. It supports both Layer 1 WDM transport and Layer 2 packet-optical applications. To address the specific challenges of the

metro network environment, Transmode’s new Metro 100G solution includes three flexible

OptiDriver 100Gbps muxponder

MRV Communications, which provides packet and optical solutions, has added a 100Gbps multi-protocol, multi-rate muxponder to its recently introduced OptiDriver optical transport platform.

It will help offer data centre operators, content delivery networks and cloud service providers a flexible path to a 100G optical transport network. The OptiDriver 100G muxponder enables

FIBRES AND CABLING FA-1 North submarine cable system

Reliance Globalcom, a provider of managed network and communication services, and Ciena, the network specialist, have upgraded Reliance Globalcom’s FA-1 North submarine cable system with 100G capacity. Ciena’s converged packet optical and GeoMesh solutions, mean that Reliance Globalcom can now deliver high-speed, low-latency OTN and 100GbE client services between London and New York with

greater capacity to meet bandwidth demand. With an initial total lit capacity of 400Gbps, this upgrade complements Reliance Globalcom’s deployment of Ciena’s GeoMesh technology on its FA-1 South submarine network that links New York to Paris, allowing the provider to offer additional capacity on two diverse routes across the Atlantic. Ciena’s GeoMesh solution, built on its 6500 Packet-Optical Platform powered by WaveLogic coherent optical processors, Reliance Globalcom

can now support trans-Atlantic OTN-based client services from 10Gbps to 100Gbps across its FA-1 North network link. Additionally, this network leverages the

programmability of Ciena’s WaveLogic technology to meet differentiated service and latency requirements, carrying traditional SDH/DWDM as well as OTN-based applications over the same platform. www.relianceglobalcom.com

Senko introduces wireless Smart Probe for fibre inspection

The Smart Probe is an ergonomically designed, compact, Wi-Fi probe for smart phones, tablets and laptops/PCs. Featuring integrated Wi-Fi module and left/right-handed thumb or finger operation for greater ease of use and convenience. Incorporating high- resolution sensor outputting 960 x 544 pixel resolution images at 16:9 aspect ratio, the Smart Probe can easily view two MT/MPO fibers rather than just a single fibre. The App, available from Google Play, includes digital zoom and still capture capabilities. www.senko.com/smartprobe

plug-in units: a 100G transponder; a 100G muxponder; and a 220G layer 2 Ethernet muxponder (EMXP). The new EMXP is part of the company’s family of EMXP units that support Ethernet switching in the Native Packet Optical 2.0 architecture with a common Ethernet feature set from 1G or 10G CPE access nodes to a 100G core network. www.transmode.com

operators to achieve bandwidth efficiency in applications such as public, private or hybrid cloud, web hosting services, high-performance computing and more. MRV’s OptiDriver optical transport platform is a compact, flexible and power-efficient portfolio of interconnect solutions. The OptiDriver muxponder offers fully pluggable interfaces that can host two 40G QSPF+, ten 10G SFP+ and a 100G CFP uplink that supports short range, DWDM

metro and long range coherent 100G optics. For customers with a large number of 10G services in their network, the muxponder is an efficient way to combine ten 10G services into a single 100G signal.

For customers with a mix of 40G and 10G services, the muxponder can carry any mix of services without the need to pre-plan the network or replace hardware for different mixes. www.mrv.com
