Impact 100-Ohm backplane connector

Molex has released the Impact 100-Ohm backplane connector, a scalable connector technology that provides data rates up to 25Gbps with signal density of up to 80 differential pairs per linear inch when using a six-pair configuration.

The Impact backplane connector conforms to IEEE 10GBASE-KR and OIF Stat Eye Compliant end-to-end channel performance. The connector features a 1.90 x 1.35mm grid,

which reduces PCB routing complexity and cost. The broad-edge coupled, differential-pair Impact backplane system supports high bandwidth needs while minimising board and system real estate usage, the company says. Compliant pin attach options (0.39 and 0.46mm) provide the flexibility to optimise designs for mechanical and electrical performance in traditional backplane or midplane architectures. The Impact daughtercard mating interface utilises an in-line staggered, bifurcated contact system that reduces the mating force per pin and provides ground-signal sequencing without the

Distribution and termination boxes

KeyFibre has launched a range of pre-connectorised fibre optic distribution and termination boxes for the building entry point, as well as for the floor distribution point.

The company showed these and other products, as well as whole system solutions developed to meet

F8MY-SR4 tap

Comcraft’s F8MY-SR4 tap is intended for 40-gigabit fibre optic networks, such as those in data centres and enterprise-level network architectures. It can be deployed with packet flow switches, security tools and consolidating tools; practical applications include network monitoring and protocol analysis. Network and data professionals can parse any information

need for multiple backplane signal-pin heights. The Impact connector is available in conventional, coplanar, mezzanine, orthogonal and orthogonal direct configurations. The Impact signal module options vary by

configuration, and are offered in anything between two and six pairs in conventional, coplanar and mezzanine configurations, with current ratings from 60 to 120A per module. www.molex.com

the requirements of the FTTH networks, and to be used in various fibre optic applications, at the FTTH Conference 2014 in Stockholm, Sweden. KeyFibre also introduced its Intelligent Cassette System, described as a modular, easy to use and configured system based on a few components that are put together without tools, requiring minimal skill

to install and no costly specialised tools. The company says it reduces possible human mistakes, assures that terminated fibres are optically performed and, more importantly, improves the total fibre link loss considerably (the number of splices or connectors is reduced). www.keyfibre.com

necessary from the network stream for a variety of data analyses. The F8MY-SR4 is an in-line product, enabling quiet monitoring of all network traffic. More importantly, Comcraft fibre optic taps are passive, non-powered devices that introduce no errors into the stream and are not a point of failure. Comcraft plans to develop a 100G-SR10 fibre optic tap. Under the Profitap label, Comcraft also

manufactures taps for copper lines and industrial networks. Products are protected by a two-year warranty against defects. www.comcraftfr.com
