Events Space dwindling in summer tournaments At press time, nearly 200 teams ranging in age from U11 to 60-and-over had signed up to play in US Lacrosse-hosted events this summer. The US Lacrosse Regional Championships, powered by Lacrosse Unlimited, welcome boys’ and girls’ U13 and U15 teams to four sites in June. The World Festivals welcome boys’ youth and men’s masters teams to Denver July 10-19. Registration deadline is May 1. Info at USLacrosse.org/Events. The lineup: Southeast: June 6-8, Raleigh, N.C. US Lacrosse adds three chapters to network The US Lacrosse Board of Directors approved the addition of new chapters for Louisiana, Nevada and North Florida during its January meeting, expanding the US Lacrosse regional network to 67 chapters across 45 states. The three new chapters will function under provisional status for one year, during which time they must demonstrate compliance with US Lacrosse chapter guidelines, meet all

annual deadlines and progress toward chapter certifi cation requirements. “These three chapters serve areas of the country that currently have a critical mass of US Lacrosse members who will benefi t by the leadership and support of a US Lacrosse chapter,” said Steve Kirr, director of regional development at US Lacrosse. "We hope the new chapter, along with the existing chapters in the central and southern parts of our state, will continue to raise the bar and visibility of lacrosse in Florida,” said Bob Kapcio, president of the North Florida Chapter.

Sport Development Apply for an AED Grant


The most effective treatment for dealing with sudden cardiac arrest and the phenomenon of commotio cordis is the immediate use of an automated external defi brillator (AED). Through a partnership with Cardiac Science, these life-saving units can be acquired at discounted rates by US Lacrosse members Visit USLacrosse.org/AEDgrant. Matching grant applications are due to US Lacrosse by March 31.


Central Hub for offi cials on ArbiterSports The US Lacrosse Offi cials Education Program now hosts its training content for youth and high school offi cials on the US Lacrosse Central Hub, powered by ArbiterSports, at USLacrosse.ArbiterSports.com.


US Lacrosse will populate and manage the content of this website in partnership with the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). Content includes rules, educational videos, checklists, webinars, news and more. US Lacrosse offi cial members will be able to use the hub to complete the annual online test(s). Continue to learn throughout the season US Lacrosse offers members fi ve free courses, with a sixth on its way at USLacrosseCourses.org: Men’s Fundamentals of Coaching, Women’s Fundamentals of Coaching, Men’s Game Offi ciating, Women’s Game Offi ciating (emphasis on rules), How to Make Proper Contact (men’s only) and, coming this spring, Fundamentals of Goalkeeping for men’s and women’s lacrosse. The courses are funded in part by membership dues to US Lacrosse and donations to the US Lacrosse Foundation.


US Lacrosse Foundation Join “Dream Drive” to fund opportunities to play The US Lacrosse Foundation's Dream Drive hopes to clear roadblocks for two fl edgling lacrosse communities by funding two First Stick Program grants at $16,110 each. The Dream Drive also looks to match the First Stick grants and offset the cost of travel for the U.S. men's team this summer. Help US Lacrosse raise $32,220 to fulfi ll dreams by donating to The Dream Drive at USLacrosse.org/DreamDrive.
