Q & A continued Other suppliers off er a fi ber optic service, but the fi ber

connection does not come to the home. Instead, fi ber deliv- ers the signal to a data cabinet (usually installed streetside), then a traditional copper wire delivers the data to your home.

How is fi ber better than my existing cable or others I see being advertised? Traditional communications companies use copper

lines to transfer their signal to your home. While they may advertise the use of fi ber optics, BOLT Fiber Optics will be the area’s only provider that uses 100% fi ber optics - that is, fi ber optics all the way to your home, eliminating the interferences that come with copper connections. Specifi cally, copper is susceptible to heat, weather and

many other environmental factors, such as electromagnetic interference, which can interfere with your connection. So, many weather conditions may aff ect the signal entering your home, causing slower downloading speeds and lower picture quality on your television. Also, since copper networks have active electronics in

the system, there is the risk of signal distortion, loss of data and a general degradation of quality. Fiber optics networks simply do not have these limitations. And when it comes to upload speeds, the velocity of

fi ber optics cannot be matched. Because traditional copper lines focus much of their bandwidth on sending signals out, they’re extremely limited when it comes to uploading new information. Fiber optics, however, are capable of producing upload speeds that are just as fast as download speeds, and the BOLT fi ber optic network does just that. With BOLT Fiber Optic Services, you can count on the speed you need to up- load pictures, music and movies faster.

What services will be off ered? Services to be available through this network include:

high speed Internet up to 1 gigabit, television, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone services.

Which phase am I in? Our plan is to build the initial fi ber network within

three years. Areas of greater density and those with the most interest will be fi rst. Those interested in the service can call or

in the initial fi ber build. This fee can be paid via credit card by calling 1-800-256-6405. Another option is to mail a check to: BOLT Fiber Optic Services, P.O. Box 399, Vinita, OK 74301. Payment can also be made in person at either our Vinita or Grove offi ce.

Is this upfront payment refundable? The $100 installation fee is fully refundable up until the time service is installed to your home.

Do I need to pay the installation fee now? Those who are in the fi rst phase of the project are being

encouraged to pay the $100 installation fee at this time. Engi- neers are in the process of designing this build. Paid locations will be included in the initial installation. A minimum of $250 will be charged if crews are required to return to the location once initial construction has left your area.

What will it cost? Prices will be competitive with other area providers and

possibly even less in some cases. The price list will be avail- able in a few months. The services we provide will be of the highest quality and capacity available. Customer service and support will be local and our top priority.

I’m currently in a contract with another provider. Can I get out of it? Each contract is usually diff erent. We suggest not

signing or renewing future contracts; we will be more than willing to review any remaining contract you might have when the time comes for you to make a decision to take our service.
