Negotiating Salary
• Knowledge is power. - Do your salary homework!
• Assume almost everything is negotiable. - Larger companies may have less flexibility with benefit packages.
• Focus on 2-3 “must haves,” such as education allowance or flexible hours
• Discuss requirements and responsibilities. - If you want to know the salary range, ask!
• Get formal job offer, then... - Provide or request a salary range (this could come early in the process) - Discuss your growth potential. - Negotiate final salary. - Discuss signing and/ or performance bonuses.
