Sutton Harbour

regeneration was the topic of a recent CPD event

>

South West Novus and the Plymouth Centre have organised six CPD events with

RIBA SW, to be held at Plymouth University. The events will cover various topics, including: how education and industry can better work together; future plans for Central Park and Home Park in Plymouth; the regeneration of Plymouth’s Waterfront; and alternative building techniques.

The first of these events took place in September and debated the relationship between education and

practice with high-level panelists from academia and industry. The South West Branch is also collaborating with RICS SW which has a large event scheduled for 30 January. RICS Infrastructure and Economic Development will be staged in Bristol and take the form of a Question Time debate. It is expected to attract around 100-150 delegates. David Pearce, chairman of the Construction

Industry Council in the south west, is keen to improve collaboration and restart the SWB region after some quiet years. See px for more on Pearce’s career.
