Nominations sought for business awards
The Cambridge Chamber of Commerce 90th Anniversary Gala and Annual Excellence in Business Awards event will be on June 20! We are currently accepting nominations for these prestigious awards. This year’s celebration will salute 90 years of business in Cambridge along with past, present and future award winners and honorees.
Each year the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce presents awards to outstanding members in recognition of their exceptional achievements and contributions to the CCC, the Cambridge community and/or their industry. We encourage you to nominate the CCC members you feel make a difference. This year, in addition to “New Member of the Year,” “Small Business of the Year,” “Nonprofit of the Year,” “The Leading Edge,” “Corporate Citizen of the Year” and the “Carl F. Barron Business Person of the Year,” we will also be unveiling a new award for young professionals. The Next Level Award spotlights a young professional between 21 and 35 that demonstrates leadership, character, professionalism, service to the community and represents someone that is part of taking Cambridge to the “next level.” Self-nominations are acceptable and encouraged. No one knows the great things your company is doing better than you do! Please view the criteria for each award and submit nominations on the CCC website at
www.cambridgechamber.org/chamber/news_awardnom.html.
After reviewing the nominations, we will narrow down the nominees to three finalists for New Member of the Year, Small Business of the Year and Nonprofit of the Year. The winners will remain confidential until the awards are presented on Thursday, June 20. In the remaining four categories, Corporate Citizen of the Year, The Leading Edge, Next Level and Carl F. Barron Business Person of the Year, the honoree will be named prior to the event. A group of members will be selected randomly to take part in the voting process and the winners will be chosen with the assistance of an Award Subcommittee.
Please join us on Thursday, June 20 at the Boston Marriott Cambridge to celebrate our 90th year and honor the entire Cambridge-area business community. You’ll even get 45 CHINGO points! The cost is $90 for members and $180 for non-members. Reserved tables of ten are available to member companies for $850. Please make reservations by June 18, 2013 at
www.cambridgechamber.org/chamber/viewevent.html?id=357. No walk-ins will be admitted. Many thanks to event sponsors Amgen and Cambridge Trust Company.
