HE Galway office of global end- point management and security solutions provider Lumension is looking to fill six new positions following the recent launch of a new technology partly developed
there for its corporate clients. Called Intelligent Whitelisting, this tech-
nology is revolutionary and quite unique in the marketplace, according to Ciaran Kelly, director of R&D at Lumension. “Intelligent Whitelisting is the industry’s
first application control solution that increas- es endpoint security effectiveness without im- pacting business productivity. It is an exciting new technology that developers want to work on.”
Lumension is recruiting two junior soft-
ware developers, two inside sales representa- tives, a software engineer C++ and a software engineer in test (automation).

“At Lumension, employees are given a plat- form that is challenging and affords signifi- cant creativity. Employees focus on delivering the best-of-breed technologies and, likewise, we strive to hire, train and retain the highest- quality employees in the industry,” says Kelly. “Lumension is now looking for additional
team members who want to work on a variety of new projects, with an emphasis on creativ- ity, innovation and results. We need tena- cious problem-solvers that are able to work well with other highly talented individuals. In particular, we focus on hiring junior de- velopers with an eye to growing our future talent stream and to ensure that there are dif- ferent career opportunities and career paths available.” The worldwide headquarters of Lumension
are in Scottsdale, Arizona and the company currently has 300 employees around the world at its operations in London, Luxembourg, Sin- gapore, France, Germany and Australia. There are 40 employees in Galway and this number is growing. There has been recent growth in recruit-
ment activity of the many ICT companies operating in Galway, Kelly notes. “Lumension chose to open the office here
in 2009 largely because Galway is a vibrant economy with technological innovation at many levels and close proximity to the university. “Over the last two years, our product re-
search and development functions have flour- ished thanks to the availability of talented developers locally and nationally. While many ICT companies will be competing for the ex- isting resources available in the market, the ongoing demand for certain specialised skill
