Forbes Solicitors contracts with

shentongroup powercall F

orbes Solicitors has contracted with shentongroup’s unique emergency generator service, Powercall, to

provide ‘power within the hour’ as part of its business continuity planning. Saving Forbes Solicitors capital expenditure and the challenges of siting, maintaining and refuelling a standby generator, the Powercall service will ensure that the company has emergency power in situ and connected up within a one hour target time. Employing 350 staff in nine offices, Forbes Solicitors is one of the largest practices in the North of England. At its headquarters, it was important that the practice could continue to maintain its operations to clients and staff in the event of a prolonged powercut. “Power outages are rare, so the Powercall service offers a cost effective solution whilst ensuring business continuity should the worst scenario arise ”, said Colin Pendlebury, IT Manager at Forbes Solicitors. “We trialled the service on a Sunday and everything went smoothly. The Powercall generator covered absolutely everything including the lighting and air conditioning”.

total cost of ownership in its class, with its inclusion in the Carbon Trust's Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) approved products list. The ECA Scheme for Energy Saving Technologies was created to encourage environmentally proactive businesses to invest in plant or machinery which has been designed with energy efficiency in mind, and which has been recognised as such on the Carbon Trust's Energy Technology Product List (ETPL). The 30kVA and 50kVA modules of the PowerWAVE 9000DPA are now Carbon Trust ECA listed products. In real terms, this means businesses investing in the 9000DPA can offset 100% of the cost of the UPS against taxable profits; therefore potentially reducing the organisation's tax bill by 26% of the equipment cost.
