Products Panel Building Offering networking support

The SmartWire-DT system has been designed to make the benefits of the fieldbus available inside the control panel. It eliminates all conventional con- trol wiring in the panel, with connections instead made by plug-in daisy chain cables. This reduces the time needed to wire the panel and makes incorporating future modifications easier. Standard contactors and protection devices in the xStart range are made ready for SmartWire-DT connectivity simply by adding an interface module, in exactly the same way that an auxiliary contact block is fitted. The new interface modules for PKE

With the introduction of the new SmartWire-DT interface module for its range of PKE electronic motor protec- tion circuit breakers, Eaton’s Electrical Sector is now offering a full range of networked motor starter solutions for control panels, which use only standard components from the xStart family. Benefits of the new range include the

elimination of the need for system builders and end users to stock differ- ent ranges of devices for traditionally wired and networked panels.

motor protection circuit breakers give users of SmartWire-DT access to versa- tile electronic motor protection. Each of the units in the PKE family cover a range of motor currents, thereby min- imising the number of variants that have to be stocked, and the units also offer tripping classes that can be set from CLASS 5 to CLASS 20, which means that optimum protection can be provid- ed for all types of drive, irrespective of the start-up conditions. Enter 207 Switches with Class II protection

Foremost Electronics has recently introduced its new Marquardt Mechatronik GmbH model 1683 pushbutton switch suitable for use in appliances requiring Class II protection. Well suited for use in harsh

industrial environments, including high dust and water areas, the 1683 pushbutton switch is protected to IP65 and IP67 levels and can con- trol devices of up to 4,000W with its switching system for currents up to 16A. The double lifting con- tact system has a life endurance of over one million operations and has a number of different connec- tion options including quick con- nect, solder and PCB terminals. The switch can accommodate

single- and double-pole contact options in the same package, with on/off and momentary actions. The switch cap is available in a range of colours and can be printed with customer legends and illumi- nated with either LED, glow lamp or a conventional filament bulb. The 1683 pushbutton has elec-

trical ratings for Europe of 16A (4) 250V AC - 10,000 cycles, 12A (8)

250V AC - 10,000 cycles, 10A (8) 250V AC - 50,000 cycles, and is approved to IEC/UL 61058 ENEC. It has an ambient operating tem- perature range of -20°C to 80°C and is flammability rated to UL 94 V-2. Applications for the 1683 push-

button switch include outdoor equipment, agricultural vehicles, construction vehicles, household appliances, medical equipment, laboratory equipment and indus- trial control. Foremost Electronics www.4most.co.uk T: 01371 811 171
