Kay Electric Celebrates 74 Years of service along with much needed rain
Kay Electric and its members celebrated 74
years and much needed rain together at the 74th Kay Electric Annual Meeting. The rain came and the sun shined for more than 1300 people, as they enjoyed dinner from End of Main cater- ing, over 70 gifts were given out through KEC’s vendors and chamber merchants, a busi- ness meeting was held and entertainment “blew the roof off ” at the auditorium as bluegrass and country
music were performed at KEC’s 74th An- nual Meeting. KEC members and employees were joined by special guest: Sen. David My- ers, Rep. Dale Dewitt, Rep. Steve Vaughan and other influential guests from the state. The Stateline Band start- ed the meeting off with great entertainment. The bluegrass band is put to- gether by a group of gen- tlemen from Northern Oklahoma and Southern Kansas. With one of them being KEC’s own, David Corn. KEC’s Board President, Max Hohmann, wel- comed everybody and gave his president’s re
port for the coopera- tive. KEC members had the chance to win a vari- ety of prizes, ranging from $50 gift cards, toolsets, cash prizes, to the grand prize of $1000. Don Becker from Enid, took home the grand prize. The business meet-
ing included a financial report from KEC’s Treasure/Secretary Ron Shoffner, a report from KEC’s lawyer Jon Ihrig, a manager’s report from Joe Harris and the election of Districts 1, 2, and 3 trustees. Jake Olsen, Chad Otto and Ron Shoffner were elected to serve three-year terms as trustees for their districts. The meeting was wrapped-up with a performance from “Johnny Cash.” He performed The Legends of Johnny Cash Show for the crowd. KEC would like to thank all the minute- men for all their hard work, not only during the annual meeting but also the preparation leading up to the big event. KEC has been providing quality, afford- able and reliable electricity to its mem- bers for 74 years. KEC thanks you, the members, for making this cooperative a success.
