HERNHOLM GROUP SELLS 50TH HISTORIC HOME The Hernholm Group recently
sold its 50th historic home in San Diego. The house, which repre- sents the 50th in the last 25 years, was sold for $2 million and is locat- ed in Marston Hills. “We’ve seen a measurable in-
crease in the demand for older homes over the past few years,” Jan- na Hernholm said. “Not only do peo- ple want to live in a home that’s rich in quality craftsmanship and charac- ter, but they also appreciate the fi-
nancial benefit afforded a home that has been historically designated and receives Mills Act status.” The Hernholm Group has prop-
erties for sale in the coastal com- munities as well as all over the Uptown area. For more information visit

NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR WALKSANDIEGO WalkSanDiego—a non-profit
organization that dedicates itself to making San Diego communities more walk-friendly—recently an- nounced that its board appointed a new executive director. Jim Stone, the former vice presi-
dent of public programs at the San Diego Natural History Museum, was chosen because of his “background in environmental issues, sustainabil- ity and public education,” according to Dave Schumacher, the chairman of WalkSanDiego’s board of direc- tors, in a recent press release. WalkSanDiego works to lessen
childhood obesity, diabetes, reduc- ing carbon footprints and improving general quality-of-life, Stone said in a release.
“There is a strong correlation
between lifestyle, walkability and sustainability, so I find the organiza-
Broadway, has been transformed into an Artist-in-Residence space, while the 5,000 square foot space at 1040 7th Ave. will now be host- ing art exhibits and auctions and is the only art auction house in San Diego. “I hope those that visit will expe-
rience and view the artwork as the artist intended; with passion and with questions,” Salazar said in a recent statement. For more information, visit al-
