PERF E C T PAL E T T E Wine Bodegas M: The Finest of Spanish Winemaking Bodegas M 2815 Live Oak Road

Paso Robles, CA 93446 (805) 239-7393 my@tcsn.net

Bodegas M is an all-star collaboration of Michael Young, Margo Shugart, and Alan Kinne—all principals in the wine industry who are devoted Hispanophiles (admirers of Hispanic culture and Spanish winemaking in particular). With a deep-rooted passion for Spanish-style wines, Michael cut his teeth drinking Rioja wines as a student at a university in Granada, Spain and together with Margo, shares a love of “all things Iberian.” Alan has spent significant time in Spain’s Ribera del Duero, working the harvest and capturing the spirit and practices of grape growing and winemaking in this idyllic wine region. It was while working at Pedrosa and Pesquera in the mid 1990s, when Alan hand-selected the bud-wood for a new plantation in Paso Robles, California—which happens to be a perfect place to grow grapes that translate into wonderful and unique Spanish-style wines. Bodegas M offers a stunning addition to any wine collecton, while dazzling

the palette. For Your Cellar:

Bodegas M Tempranillo 2007 Tinto de Paso This delicious wine is deep ruby in color, with some garnet at the edges. Small yields of grapes from a relatively high-density plantation, results in rich texture, flavors and aromas including cherry, berry and anise, with vanilla and clove tones finishing long. This wine has aged 18 months in new French oak, making it a complex partner for rich food pairings.

Bodegas M Albarino 2008 Querida Bright green and gold in color, this wine is redolent of stone fruit, green apples and honeysuckle. Aging for 6 months in one-year-old American oak, results in a complex and rich palate, with a creamy texture and both bright and rich fruit flavors. Try pairing with shellfish.
