RYA Windsurfing Courses
Windsurfing is a sport that encompasses people from all ages
and walks of life, and we’re delighted that you want to give
it a go.
With good instruction, the right equipment and regular time on
the water you can progress quickly and soon be experiencing
the thrill and freedom on the sport.
Windsurfing has evolved quickly over recent years and we
review our training programmes regularly to ensure they are
bang up to date with developments in equipment and the
sport generally.
Both our national and youth schemes provide an easy and
logical progression from beginner to expert. The national
scheme incorporates a unique coaching method called Fastfwd,
which concentrates on five areas to bring your learning together
– vision, trim, balance, power and stance. This makes the
coaching memorable and effective, enabling clear improvement
once you have mastered the basic skills.
To back up your training on the water we have produced
a series of books, expertly written and clearly illustrated.
Our recommendations are shown below. All RYA books are
available through our webshop
www.rya.org.uk/shop.
Have fun!
