RYA Sailing Courses
Sailing is a wonderfully diverse sport with so many types of
boats to suit everyone, regardless of age or ability.
Our National Sailing Scheme gives you the best introduction
with a series of two-day courses enabling you to quickly
progress from beginner to expert in a controlled, safe and fun
environment.
You can choose to learn in dinghies, multihulls or small
keelboats, offering a level of activity and adrenaline to suit
any taste.
Dinghies
Small sailing boats, fun and responsive to sail
The Youth Sailing Scheme is closely aligned to the adult
National Sailing Scheme, but with even more emphasis on
fun and games in the early stages. It is delivered in smaller
bite sized chunks to build confidence and skills.
Both the youth and the adult schemes offer parallel routes
through learning the basics before embarking on the more
advanced courses where more specialist skills and individual
coaching is provided.
To back up your training on the water we have produced
a series of books, expertly written and clearly illustrated.
Our recommendations are shown below. All RYA books are
