HOFMANN’s new Monty® Universal 2 ‘all-round’ roller
type tyre changer is designed to enable lever-less tyre
changing for all wheel variants, including run-flat and ultra
high profile (UHP) rims of up to 30” diameter and 17” wide.
The roller type changing system featured on the Universal
2 reduces the risk of damage to tyre pressure monitoring
systems fitted to the inside of run-flat wheel rims, claims the company.
Roller type changers are also specified for use on the growing number
of vehicles fitted with high performance wheels and tyres, such as the
Nissan GTR.
Features include a central clamping wheel flange, which enables careful bead
breaking on two sides of the rim at the same time. The new machine is also
equipped with a bead grip head for complete lever free operation. A variable
speed turntable with vertical height adjustment allows ergonomic and conve- ROUND - UP
nient handling of different tyres, including wheels requiring reverse mounting.

Guide & Catalogue once again highlights the importance for
independent service technicians to specify the correct oil
for every vehicle that passes through their workshop.
Comma’s application tables reveal that the number of cars
requiring a fully synthetic 5w-30 engine oil that is fully compli-
ant with vehicle manufacturers’ ‘original-fill’ specifications has risen by 25% since

the start of 2008. Within this group, there is a steadily growing trend towards
ACEA ‘C’ classification ‘Reduced SAPS’ oils to protect three-way catalytic con-
