On any day in Kings Bay between November and March, residents see manatees swimming. T ey also might see them sleeping in shallow water like lazy dogs curled up on the lawn! Many tourists want to see them, too. T ey come to swim with, and maybe even touch, the manatees. Yet the manatee is endangered. To protect manatees, many argue that people should stay away from these animals.
