MIDNIGHT ZONE: No sunlight. No plants live here. Animals include bottom-dwelling fi sh, some types of corals, squid, and octopuses.

ABYSS: Cold temperatures, high pressure, and complete darkness for this zone. Most animals are transparent and eyeless. Some include the sea cucumber, basket star, and sea spider.
