soft prairie grasses and shade trees native to the locale. Plenty of outdoor seating is available with benches that bend around tree bases and raised pods for lounging near fountains.

Walkways to shopping areas feature lanterns and geode-like markers. Many stores have outdoor mercantile areas, reminiscent of farmers markets.
So far, retail businesses that have opened in the Promenade at Castle Rock include Café Rio,
Tokyo Joe’s, Kneaders, Mad Greens,
Smashburger, Mod Pizza and AT&T. The retailers that are set to open in the coming year include King Soopers grocery, Sports Authority, Sam’s Club, 24 Hour Fitness, T.J. Maxx/HomeGoods, Petco and Ulta. The new development is poised to become a regional shopping destination, es- pecially since the popular Outlets at Castle Rock is a next-door neighbor.
The Promenade at Castle Rock has generated more than 3,100 construction jobs. Once fully operational, the retail establishments will provide approximately 800 permanent jobs.

Workers complete the addition of exterior siding on an anchor store building. The massive project’s completion date is fall 2016.
