The Rules of Light Eyes use light to see. Light enters the eye through an opening in the middle. It’s called the pupil. It looks like a black dot. T e colored part around the pupil is called the iris. T e iris controls how much light goes into the eye. T ese and other parts of the eye work together. T ey help make a picture for the brain to see.
Seeing is Believing When the brain gets the picture from the eye, it’s a little odd. It’s backward and upside down! T e brain has to turn it around to see it right side up.
