UP-CLOSE School Resource Offi cers and the Respectable Kids SUMMARY
The school environment can be repre- sentative of the community as a whole. Not all of our residents are awful, only a small percentage that we routinely en- counter who cloud our perception of the area. The same with kids at school.
Getting to know the good students will require you to seek them out, since most likely they will not be on your radar. Get to know your students for who they are, and who they want to become. Their aspirations might surprise you.
