William G. Simpson, a Loyola Life Trustee, died April 24 in Naples, Florida, at age 92. Simpson and his late wife, Marilyn, were longtime Loyola supporters who jointly received the University’s Honorary Alumni Award in 1985. Simpson Hall was named in their honor when it opened on the Lake Shore Campus in 1991, and the Loyola University Museum of Art (LUMA) also has a

lecture room named for the Simpsons. Simpson was born in Chicago and graduated from the U.S.

Military Academy at West Point. He served two years in the Army and later founded the private investment firm W.G. Simpson & Co. He also received appointments from two sitting U.S. presidents, first being named head of the Small Business Administration by John F.
