Clarksville Foundry Casts Replica of Civil War Cannon Clarksville Foundry (Clarksville,

Tennessee) cast a replica of a Civil War cannon that was donated to Montgomery County (Tennessee) by the area’s Rotary Club. The cannon was produced based on drawings of a Model 1841 6-Pounder Field Gun. In May, it was fired at the Mont- gomery County Courthouse. “We always felt like (we) needed another one here on the court house lawn,” said Billie Ruth Nannery, ac- cording to the Leaf-Chronicle. Clarksville Foundry president

Charles Foust Jr. spearheaded the project. “The cannon project was appeal-

ing for a number of reasons,” Foust said, according to Clarksvilleonline.com. “It allows us to showcase our

company’s capabilities in a form that has generated tremendous commu- nity and regional interest.”
