tion will invest $21.4 million to establish its global headquarters and U.S. manufacturing facility for injection molding and diecasting equipment at the Pellissippi Cor- porate Center in Knox County, Tennessee. HTS plans to house a lab for research and development, a metallurgical lab and industrial metal additive manufacturing equipment for production in the facility. The facility will include 10,000 sq. ft. of office space and between 50,000 and 60,000 sq. ft. for R&D and production. HTS plans to create 200 jobs during the next four years. Construction of the Knox


County facility is expected to begin in early 2017.


Innovance Inc. announced it has


acquired Midland Technologies (Rogers, Minnesota). Midland is a manufacturer of valve-less vacuum blocks, valve-less super chill blocks, ultimate vent blocks, vacuum systems, and other products designed as com- ponents used in diecasting. “Overall, the success of Midland’s


manufacturing capabilities, its talented workforce, and its high-quality prod- ucts makes it a great fit for Innovance going forward,” said Mike Larson, CEO, Innovance. AMRC Castings (Sheffield, England) is nearing completion of a ti- tanium aerospace casting facility which will be the biggest in Europe. Initial casts will be poured into a static metal mold before trials begin using static ceramic molds from the new shelling plant. Staff will then start building the experience needed to oper- ate the centrifugal casting system.
