• Compared to other components hogged out from solid billet, the 210-lb. casting represented a signifi - cant cost savings.
• AlumAlloy’s proprietary vertical molding process allowed the castings, with wall thicknesses varying from 0.25 in. to 2 in., to pass X-ray inspection.
• T e aluminum-bodied torpedoes are used for prac- tice and meant to be recoverable and reusable.
