Professional Development K–2 Adoptions

Complimentary Services for New Superkids

® The following services for K–2 teachers and administrators are provided at no charge in the first year.

Implementation Training

Implementation training, by grade level, is provided for all new Superkids teachers and support personnel. These half-day sessions (or 90-minute webinars) prepare teachers to implement the Superkids program. Participants engage in lessons and learn the what and why of the Superkids program. Teachers will leave prepared to use all program materials.

What Administrators Need to Know About Primary Reading

One-on-One Coaching Instruction and Superkids

This 90-minute session provides an overview of the entire K–2 program. Participants will leave understanding how the neural pathways for reading are formed; what systematic, explicit instruction really means; and the research basis of the Superkids program.

In year one, each Superkids teacher receives one visit from coaches who are highly trained primary educators. Classroom visits can include lesson feedback and discussion of topics chosen by the teacher. Coaching visits may also include a team or grade-level meeting during the day or after school.

• K–2 adoptions with fewer than 10 teachers or in remote locations will receive implementation training via webinar or online videos and coaching support by phone and e-mail.

• If Happily Ever After (HEA) is part of a prekindergarten through second grade adoption, a separate training will be provided for all HEA teachers.

Online Video Support Training is always available via online videos for the following groups:

• Teachers: To learn how to implement the Superkids program for the first time or review implementation training (for each grade level)

• Administrators: To become acquainted with the Superkids program

• Paraprofessionals and tutors: To be trained on the reading process, Superkids materials, and how to provide valuable and purposeful assistance during reading instruction

• Parents: To become acquainted with the Superkids program

Ongoing Phone and Website Support Support is provided year-round for teachers, reading specialists, and administrators in Superkids schools.
