Col. Albert E. Lassiter, USAF (Ret), Life Member (joined 1989): Lassiter entered the Air Force in 1964 and was commis- sioned via Offi cer Training School. His service included 32 years
of active, Air Force Reserve, and Air National Guard assignments at senior and command levels. Junior Achievement recently presented Lassiter with its 15- year Volunteer Award. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Tougaloo College in Mississippi and a master’s degree from the University of Southern California.
Lt. Col. Ray Russell Jr., USAF (Ret), Life Member (joined 1990): Russell has led members of MOAA’s New Jersey Lakes and Pines Chapter, as well as local community military leaders, to
contact their representatives in support of MOAA’s legislative objectives. He has been a regular speaker at the annual Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst retiree appreciation day. For his eff orts, in 2015, he was the inaugural recipient of MOAA’s Col. Steve Strobridge Award.
Tammie Smiley, Life Member (joined 2005): Smiley holds a bachelor’s degree in information systems and a master’s degree in computer resources and information systems. For the past 20
years, she has been a modeling and simulation engineer. She is a published au- thor for both Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Con- ference and NATO proceedings. Smiley is the wife of Lt. Col. Walter J. Smiley Jr., USA. She serves on MOAA’s Currently Serving Spouse Advisory Council.
Col. Frank J. Snyder, USA, Life Member (joined 1997): Snyder’s military service has included tactical and strategic com- munications, cyberspace planning, teaching at the U.S. Military
Academy at West Point, N.Y., two operational tours during Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq, and commanding at both the battalion and brigade levels. He holds a bachelor’s degree in systems engineering and three master’s degrees. Snyder is an active volunteer and serves on the Educational Assistance, Strate- gic Planning, and Governance committees of MOAA’s board of directors. MO
