Giving Back MilLife Connection
F
or more than four years, Stella & Dot has partnered with MOAA Spouse Programs* to honor military
communities all over the world with their “Buy One, Gift One (BOGO) — Military Gratitude Program.” With each purchase of a selected accessory presented dur- ing the November 2015 BOGO campaign, Stella & Dot will donate an accessory of equal or greater value to women in mili- tary communities in 2016. Since launching this partnership, Stella & Dot has donated over 15,000 accessories specifically to female servicemembers and veterans, military spouses, caregivers, sur- vivors, and family members. “We wanted to give a gift of our deep gratitude to military families who give so
much to us all,” says Jessica Herrin, Stella & Dot CEO and founder. “Our hearts are with every family that moves frequently and spends so much time apart to serve our country.”
In addition to giving accessories
through her company, Herrin was a fea- tured keynote speaker at MOAA’s 2014 “Keeping a Career on the Move®” Military Spouse Symposium in San Antonio. “MOAA Spouse Programs is honored
Stella & Dot has invited us to partner with them again in 2016,” says Jennifer Goodale, MOAA spouse outreach coordinator. “With their generous donation, we are able to give Stella & Dot jewelry to the families who stand beside our nation’s heroes.” — C.C. Gallagher
MOAA CAREGIVER FINANCIAL EDUCA- TION SUPPORT MOAA, in partnership with the Elizabeth Dole Foundation and USAA, is launching Personal- ized Financial Education Support, which gives military caregivers ac- cess to USAA financial advisors who can assist them in making impor- tant financial decisions. In 2014, MOAA, with an innovation grant from the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, released Tips for Lifelong Care- giving (

caregiver), an online guide for caregivers of wounded, ill, and in- jured servicemembers, as the first step toward supporting military caregivers. The Law- yers for Heroes website (
www.lawyersforheroes .org) followed, which provides access to pro- bono legal resources for users who require more personalized help. MOAA is honored to be working with USAA to support the important work of the Elizabeth Dole Foundation.
