In the Spirit of the Crosby T

Quinn’s Brigade:

he AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am has raised millions of dollars for charity since founder Bing Crosby

moved his tournament to the Monterey Peninsula in 1947. In the spirit of the Crosby, 2017 NCGA President Pat Quinn did some giving back of his own. By virtue of his role as President, Quinn

was slated to be among the amateurs teeing off in this year's AT&T Pro-Am. The long- time Youth on Course Board member took his appearance further, however, in using the occasion to raise money for Youth on Course – the nationally acclaimed, non- profit that provides youth with access to life- changing opportunities through golf.

How? By bringing in Quinn’s Brigade. As part of his AT&T Pro-Am appear- ance Quinn took pledges (remember Walk-a-Thons?) with all of the proceeds benefitting Youth on Course. The idea for Quinn’s Brigade was hatched by Quinn and lifelong friend Bill Baron. “We just talked about how it would be

a great way to help raise funds for Youth on Course,” Quinn said. Turned out, it was better than great. By the time Saturday’s third round teed off at the AT&T Pro-Am, Quinn’s Brigade had raised $250,000 for Youth on Course. The goal going in was to generate upwards of $100,000. “Youth on Course represents so many

good things with golf. It’s been great to see it evolve,” Quinn said. “Helping them succeed, and in turn helping the kids, is very gratifying.”
