DF 040 HQ multi-kilowatt diode laser
Rofin‘s fibre-
coupled
multi-kilowatt diode laser – now part of Coherent’s product portfolio – has been
upgraded to a new high beam quality version. With an output power of 4kW and a 600µm fibre, the DF 040 HQ complements the DF Series as a cost-efficient tool for keyhole welding, brazing and surface treatment applications requiring higher beam quality. For multi-stage operation, two switchable fibre outputs are available optionally. The modular design ensures flexible power scaling, high availability, and ease of maintenance.

Femto Taranis-based system
Elliot Scientific is now a distributor of Fibercryst, a manufacturer of short pulse lasers and amplifiers using innovative single crystal fibre technology (SCF). The SCF technology offered by Elliot, named Taranis, gives significant performance advantages over existing technologies. Femto is Fibercryst’s Taranis-based laser system that uses a femtosecond laser with
Single-stage DPSS amplifier
Unilase has launched a compact single-stage laser amplifier that can scale up the output power of low infrared picosecond or nanosecond lasers by 10,000 times in CW or pulsed mode. Typically, a 1mW laser can be amplified to more than 4W and a 300mW input beam can be amplified to more than 18W. The mini-slab DPSS design and scalable architecture of the amplifier offers extremely high gain and
output powers up to 25W for high throughput, high quality micromachining. Delivering pulse energies in excess of 80µJ in pulse widths of less than 900fs, and with repetition rates selectable between 100kHz and 2MHz, Femto is ideal for cutting and drilling hard materials, cold machining polymers and composites, and micromachining and structuring surfaces, such as medical devices and semiconductors.

high average power output with excellent beam quality. In combination with a pulsed seed laser, efficient conversion of the amplified laser into the green and ultraviolet wavelengths is achievable.
Applications include the test and
measurement of laser systems, higher throughput production of micromachining and marking, scientific research and lidar.

TEST AND MEASUREMENT F50A-BB-18 power/energy sensor
Ophir Photonics has introduced the F50A-BB-18 thermal power/energy laser
measurement sensor. Designed for continuous use at higher laser powers, the F50A-BB-18 is a compact, fan-cooled sensor with a wide dynamic range. It measures powers from 10mW to 50W and energies from 6mJ to 50J. The sensor includes a spectrally flat broadband

coating, usable from far ultraviolet to far infrared.
The sensor is highly linear, providing
precision readings of power stability over time with no drift. It has a fast response time of 0.8s and low noise of 0.5mW. The sensor features a 17.5mm aperture and broad wavelength range of 0.19-20µm. The F50A-BB-18 includes a cable for
connecting to Ophir’s smart displays or PC interfaces, including the StarBright, Nova II, Vega, and Juno. Each display features a Smart Connector interface that automatically configures and calibrates the display when plugged into one of the company’s measurements sensors.
