Sword & Trowel 2016: Issue 1

 prayer from the Bible and the parents allowed the boy to resume attendance.

Other churches around us hinder attendance at our Sunday School by occupying small children with choir practice, football, dancing lessons, drumming practice, and drama, etc. Please join us as we pray for more chil- dren to attend and for their conversion. Our minibus continues to run well and we feel the need of more transport to help with timely gathering of the chil- dren.

College Campus Ministry: We continue to see the Lord’s provision here. Getting the university authori- ties to assign us a place to meet on the two campuses had been a problem, because our evangelism team was not part of the student body. But the Lord

has overruled and we have been given good meeting rooms, even in prefer- ence to the numerous denominational students’ fellowships, both in the Lagos State University and in the University of Lagos (UNILAG). Our evangelism team holds weekly meetings on the two campuses. A few of the students of UNILAG have begun to attend our Sunday worship services, and many more are showing interest in the Bible studies. Please pray for wisdom and boldness for our members as they min- ister in the midst of opposing peddlers of another ‘gospel’ and superstitions, as well as challenges from Muslim preach- ers on these campuses.

Christ Pastors’ Seminary: Eight students attend the classes held for two days each fortnight. We have also begun Saturday lectures for church members (currently seven) who cannot attend daytime lectures. Please pray for sustaining grace for the three teachers who cover these assignments and that all those receiving these lectures may be fruitful in the application of what they learn.

Pastor Okoroh is assisted by the Tab- ernacle’s Overseas Ministry Fund, see page 16 for details.
