Court Enforcement Services has appointed Chris Browning as its new head of client services. He replaces Adele Whitehurst, who wishes to take a break from the industry and relocate overseas. He will report to the board and his line manager will be one of Court Enforcement Services’ founding directors, Wayne Whitford. Mr Whitford said: “We respect Adele’s decision and thank her for building the client services


department virtually from scratch. She has introduced new processes and reporting which have benefited both our clients and business. “We are delighted that we have been able to appoint Chris as her successor and that he joins us at this exciting time.”

Cabot Credit Management (CCM) has announced its financial results for the three months ending 31 March 2017. “This has been another strong and


profitable start to the year for CCM with our EBITDA increasing 18% compared to the same period in 2016, from £56.9m to £67.4m,” said Ken Stannard, chief executive officer, CCM. “We have seen our debt purchase


collections increase by 10% from £87.6m to £96.6m compared to the first quarter of 2016 and in March we achieved our highest ever collection result in our UK debt-purchase business.”

The latest UK Personal Debt Index has found the number of young people seeking help with personal debt rose by 7.8% in the first quarter of 2017. Individuals aged between 20 and 25 accounted for over one in 10 of those undertaking support for their personal finances in the first three months of the year. “Christmas can be an expensive time


of the year, and the extra spending throughout November and December seems to have impacted heavily on young people’s finances in particular,” said Pearse Flynn, CEO of Creditfix.
