4-11 NEWS Highlights from the UK education sector 7 VIEWS

Dear Reader,

Welcome to the latest issue of Education Today, and welcome back to school. For those of you with an interest in ed tech, January can only mean one thing here in the UK – it is the month when exhibitors and visitors make the journey to ExCel in London’s Docklands to show and see the latest in classroom technology at Bett. Bett has grown over the years to become Europe’s most important ed tech show, and while the array of technology on show can be bewildering to the first-time visitor, there is much to be gained from a visit. One suggestion – plan your visit carefully, decide who you want to see, set aside some free time to wander and most importantly, wear comfortable shoes! Moving on to the issue – with Bett firmly in

our thoughts, in our first feature we offer a selection of exhibitors, for those of you attending the show and also for those who can’t make it but are interested in the sorts of products and services on offer. In our second feature, we have a fascinating piece from Felicia Jackson, Chair of The Learn2Think Foundation, on the challenges our schools face managing issues of diversity and inclusion in the classrooms of modern Britain. We have our regular contributors as

always, and a great line up of comment and opinion to get you talking. We also continue our section on recruitment, and have some great jobs for you this month. Finally, we continue our series on the

members of BESA (the UK trade body for suppliers to the education sector) with pieces from Crick Software and STAEDTLER. Remember, you can get in touch with us

via Twitter @EdTodayMag, Facebook and our homepage, as well as by phone or email. We love hearing from you! Finally, I’d like to wish you a happy and

prosperous New Year. Enjoy the issue!. Enjoy the issue!
