BKU Awards shortlisted for two prestigious awards of it own!

T

he BKU Awards has been announced as a finalist in not one, but two categories at the inaugural Awards Awards: Best New Awards Event and Best Overall Awards Event – less than 500 attendees.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is the only award which is exempt from voting process. This award will go to an individual who has played a significant role in the bathroom and/or kitchen industry. An expert panel will be appointed to consider each of the nominees and the winner will be revealed on the night.

Organised by Global Conference Network, the event is designed to commend excellence in awards management and execution. Founder and co-managing director of the Global Conference Network, Rory Ross Russell explains: “This spin- off event comes on the back of the over-subscription and demand we see at our other events where often the “Awards category” is the most hotly contested. We thought it was time that Awards professionals had their very own showcase for their talents. We are delighted to welcome so many distinguished Awards experts to the judging panel who I can confidently predict are going to have their work cut out to whittle down the field”.

BKU publication and event manager, Carl Hearnden comments: “I am extremely proud that the BKU Awards has been shortlisted for not just one, but TWO awards at the Awards Awards 2017.

“When we first launched the BKU Awards in 2015 there was a clear ambition and determination to create an awards ceremony with a difference and our unique tried and tested online entry, nomination and voting process, which allows the industry to pick its winners, has now been recognised for its innovative forward thinking.

“I would like to thank all of our entrants and sponsors, both past and present for their continued support as without them the event would not be possible.”

The winners will be announced on 12th May at the elegant Plaisterers’ Hall in the City of London.

It’s nearly time……

The deadline to submit your entries and nominations for this year’s BKU Awards is Friday 31st March. This is your chance to shine a spotlight the industry’s most outstanding people, retailers, suppliers. So what are you waiting for?

Entries and nominations for the 2017 event opened on Monday 21st November and we have already received more to date, than by the final deadline in 2016 making this another record breaking year.

Here’s a quick reminder of how it works: You can enter your company, one of your employees or yourself for an award in each of the relevant categories. You can also nominate another company or individual in any of the relevant categories. The categories are grouped by Retail Awards, Brand Awards, General Awards and People Awards.

However, entries and nominations must meet the category criteria to go through to the voting stage. The secure online voting process will then produce five finalists in each category, with the winners being those who have attracted the most votes overall.

A great host and a great venue! The BKU Awards 2017 will take place at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London on Thursday 22 June 2017, hosted by one of the UK’s top comedians, Jimmy Carr. As the figurehead of topical panel shows such 8 Out of 10 Cats, the weekly satire 10 O’Clock Live and the ever-popular Have I Got News For You, Jimmy has become something of a star of British comedy.

Jimmy’s appearance is sponsored by Virtual Worlds, the UK’s leading CAD provider to the KBB industry.

Tickets are priced at £195+VAT or £1950 for a table of 10. Please note this is an early bird ticket price - the deadline for purchasing at this rate is 31 March.

The dress code is lounge-suits (black tie optional). Make an entrance!

The Awards has already won the backing of eight sponsors, with a selection of sponsorship opportunities still available.

Häfele, an internationally trusted name supplying furniture fittings, ironmongery and hardware to the trade is sponsoring the BKU Awards for the first time. Marketing director, Chloe Thacker says: “We are thrilled to be sponsoring the New Kitchen Retailer of the Year category at this year’s BKU Awards, supporting so many of our dedicated and passionate Kitchen Studio Partners as they continue to grow from strength to strength.”
