hoosing the correct equipment can often be daunting, so with this in mind, Martindale Electric - one of the most trusted brands in electrical safety testing - has created a ten-part series of short videos detailing the benefits of choosing the correct equipment for the job.
C
Presented by industry personality Dave Austin, the new collection of videos from Martindale Electric looks at the five key areas; 17th Edition Testing, Voltage Indication and Safe Isolation, Fuse Finder and Cable Detectors, PAT Testers and Sockets testers; and has been designed to help electricians and maintenance personnel perform safer,
and smarter testing on-site. The first two videos are available to watch now on the Martindale Electric You

ow available from Martindale Electric is the new CM69 TRMS AC Leakage Clamp Meter, ideal for troubleshooting leakage currents where other clamps can’t, for example, for tracking down the causes of nuisance RCD tripping.
Featuring class leading low current
performance with a resolution 0.001mA the new clamps makes it easy to accurately measure AC currents from less than 0.1mA right up to 60A. The CM69 features a unique jaw design which minimises the influence of adjacent current conductors enabling professionals to perform precise and reliable tests at very low currents. One of the few testers on the market which uses True RMS measurement, the CM69 ensures that leakage currents can be identified and measured accurately even when due to harmonics. In addition the new design includes a switchable filter enabling repeatable periodic measurements at 50Hz for assessing insulation quality and deterioration without powering down the circuit.

Alicat Releases Gas Select 6.0 Firmware A
faster
licat Scientific has updated its Gas Select™ firmware for Alicat mass flow meters, mass flow controllers and pressure controllers. Gas Select 6.0 improves user control and data speed, adding features that enable users to make changes to instruments without a factory visit. Gas Select firmware comes standard on all Alicat mass flow meters and controllers, and includes a library of up to 130 preloaded gases, referenced to NIST REFPROP 9. The firmware drives the flexible user interface for controlling instrument operation.
A new feature of version 6.0 is user-selectable engineering units. Units of pressure,
temperature, volume, standard volume or mass can all be changed in the field. With this capability, flow instruments can be realigned to correlate with other calculations in the process stream, or even repurposed for new applications.

New Product from Pilz- PSENm-Lock P
ilz is adding PSENmlock to its range of safety switches. PSENmlock offers safety gate monitoring (also known as interlocking) and safe guard locking for the protection of personnel and processes to the highest levels up to PL e (of EN ISO 13849) in one device. It fully satisfies the requirements of the latest interlocking standard EN ISO 14119. The slimline yet robust design and the many different installation options make PSENmlock both flexible to use and easy to install.
PSENmlock is a reliable door guard switch both for small or large, light or
heavy, swinging or sliding doors, gates, covers and flaps. Above and beyond these possible applications the flexibly mounted actuator ensures high tolerance compensation and unrestricted functionality even with sagging gates. Thanks to a bi-stable solenoid, the currentless guard locking system reduces the energy consumption of the safety gate system. Diagnostic data is easily identifiable in many installation positions: LEDs on three sides of the housing support user-friendly diagnostics whatever the installation situation.
Extremely strong
with a holding force of 7500 N and the integrated latching force of 30 N, the safety gate system prevents the guard from opening inadvertently. This makes PSENmlock particularly suitable for machines with a hazardous overrun that makes guard locking up to PL d or PL e absolutely essential, such as rotating knives, flywheels or robots. In addition, an integrated mechanical restart interlock prevents the guard locking system from being activated inadvertently, without the need for separate accessories. Not only does the restart interlock make operating the machine safer, it also prevents an inadvertent restart during maintenance operations! The integration of RFID into the tongue actuator means that, in the unlikely event that it breaks off in the switch, such a failure is detected and a safe state is preserved. The outputs of the switch are cross-monitored semi-conductor types with short-circuit detection built in. 3 levels of coding are available, and a high level of protection against manipulation is assured. Mounting plates and brackets are available for 40mm profile structural systems.
