Pete and Beverley Fields, founding members of the Old Dominion En- durance Ride, organized a Wagon Train Ride through Washington, D.C., with fellow mem- bers and other riding groups to celebrate the Bicentennial Anniversary of the U.S. This ride is just one example of the many ways the Fields have impacted the horse community here in Maryland and nationally. The couple recently announced their retirement from owning and operating El Ammal Farm in Charlotte Hall. Their daughter pur- chased this month’s cover to celebrate their 50+ years in the business.
