Happy Days & Positive Posts! continued ...

Annelise Galinaitis sent in this photo of her five-year-old son Emerson with her 23-year-old Thoroughbred named Set Dance. “We’ve been together for 13 years and while he’s retired, he is the horsey love of my life!” she said.

On May 5, the people at Star Community had the opportunity for a bit of animal therapy. The Star Equestrian Center staff hosted a “Horse Parade” for all to enjoy. Staff Rachel, Jonell and Bethany walked therapy horses Jarly, Belle, CC and Hancock to each individual house so people could come out and interact with the horses. The horses enjoyed healthy snacks while every- one had the opportunity to pet, feed and love on the horses. Jarly sported a very thoughtful sign telling everyone how much they are missed. What a fantastic way to spend a spring day! – Star Equestrian Center staff

Crazy times, so many uncertainties, challenges and worries… In typical Pony Place fashion, today we celebrated! We kept our distance, stayed outside, soaked up some sun and took a load of pure joy for some window visits with the residents of a local assisted living facility. These residents have been confined to their rooms for over eight weeks now! We walked around the entire facility, waving and spending a moment at each window as well as making some hilltop visits for the second and third floor residents. Lots [of them] were banging on their windows from above to get our attention and it was amazing. The staff had a golf cart escort for us to follow and the activities director was walking in front telling us the residents’ names and such. – Debbie Worrell
