Riley Wiltison Continues to Shine On April 26, 16-year-old Riley Wiltison of Oakland, MD,


added yet another USEF Combined Driving title to his name. Wiltison, who was featured on the cover of our February 2021 issue, won the USEF Intermediate Single Pony Combined Driving National Championship at the Katydid CDE in Mill Spring, NC, driving Willow’s Aslan. T e pair earned a 56.28 in dressage with Wiltison stating, “I


was very happy with him. He performed well and listened to me.” T ey then moved into the lead after winning the marathon phase with an 81.63. After a rest day, Wiltison and Willow’s Aslan went double clear in cones to fi nish on a score of 137.91 penalty points and earn the National Championship title.


Natalie Paley of The Big Easy earned a Re- serve Championship riding Vendette at the BEST May II Show at the PG Equestrian Center.

Horseback Riding in West Baltimore


In partnership with City Ranch and the University of Mary- land BioPark, the University of Maryland, Baltimore Commu- nity Engagement Center (UMB CEC) off ered free introduc- tory horseback riding lessons and horsemanship program for children ages 10-15 in the greater southwest Baltimore City neighborhoods. T e program runs for 10 weeks with 24 children attending.


City Ranch founder Aheshmahk Dahn explained, “We had them come every day for two weeks so they could really get to know the horses. After that, they do one day for eight weeks.” T e idea for the program, which brought nine horses, instruc-
