Nicola leaves for pastures new

Nicola Coleman has left the NUJ after 12 years working as Irish Organiser which brought her the length and breadth of the island of Ireland.

The Irish Executive Committee has acknowledged her work on behalf of the union from her detailed, industrial reports and in particular her recent successes, and wish her well in her future career.

Assistant Organiser Ian McGuiness is currently serving as Irish Organiser in an acting capacity.

Nicola's appointment as Assistant Organiser was her first post as a full time official. She had been a long-time activist with the Civil and Public Service Union (CPSU) and served on the executive of that union while working in the Irish public service.

At the September meeting of the IEC Nicola was wished well in her new career. Ronan Brady said the Council should acknowledge her contribution to the work of the union.

Acting Irish Organiser Ian McGuinness is former FoC of The Irish Medical Times chapel and prior to his appointment was an officer of Dublin P&PR branch and IEC member.
