SKILLS FOR LIFE & LEARNING 2016/17
GCSE Maths & English
FREE SEPTEMBER START* These courses are free, and are available in the daytime or evening. They are designed for adults who may not have studied for some time and who lack confidence. There are no entry requirements.
For the first six weeks, you will work towards an OCR Cambridge Award in Maths or English, which is assessed by a short exam. You will then be able to decide, with the tutor, if you want to enrol for the one or two year GCSE course. If you choose the two year option you will gain a qualification in Functional Skills Level 1 in the first year, developing your skills and confidence, and then progress to the GCSE.
Our Skills for Life and Learning courses are perfect for those who need to improve their maths and English skills to progress at work or get onto their dream course at college or university. If you’ve been out of education for a while, our Pre- Access Study Skills course will help ease you back into the world of study and prepare you for whatever you want to do next.
