The system is ‘very broad’ and has been
able to handle all of Reparo’s requirements without customisation. ‘There were no real barriers that we came across on the way.’ All of the training, aside from one face-to- face meeting, was done over the internet, she adds. The system supports Reparo’s loan
origination, client information, agreement generation, loan account opening, repay- ments and disbursements, and the scan- ning in and holding of documents. A risk dashboard can be configured to display the indicators required, such as the number of loans, the total value, and the percentage of defaults, with the ability to drill down into the data. Reparo has few live loans at the
moment, taking a fairly cautious approach at the outset, but this has had the benefit of allowing the users to fully test the pro- cesses and system ahead of scaling up, says Bryden. Next steps are likely to be integration
with Reparo’s direct debit system and accounting package, to minimise manual intervention. Discussions are underway with Mambu for both links, says Bryden.

‘During the whole process of training, testing, implementation and going live, we haven’t had to do a lot in terms of customisation. There were no real barriers that
we came across on the way.’ Sharon Bryden, Reparo Finance
