Trailbuilders Association The 2015 American Trails International Trails Symposium will feature the Professional Trailbuilders Association (PTBA) Sustainable Trails Workshops and Outdoor Trade Show.

Sustainable Trails Workshops PTBA is excited to present this series of hands-on workshops focusing on the important skills and tech- niques involved in the sustainable design, planning, con- struction, and maintenance of trails for all types of users in all types of environments. Outdoor Demonstration Area and Trade Show Don’t miss the Outdoor Demonstration Area and Trade

 Sunday, May 17. This is the only trade show in the nation dedicated to trailbuilders and trailbuilding tools, technology, and techniques. The outdoor demonstration area will have dirt, terrain, rocks, and logs for equipment demonstrations from a variety of trail vendors and will take place on Sunday, May 17. Don’t miss an opportunity to play in the dirt!

Legacy Trail PTBA will also take the lead on the Legacy Trail. The

Legacy Trail Program, a partnership between PTBA and American Trails, will establish a sustainable trail that will serve generations to come— and leave a lasting legacy in the 2015 International Trails Symposium host city. Through the Sustainable Trails Workshop Series, a seg- ment of sustainably and professionally built trail will be left behind in the Portland area after the Symposium as a legacy of the partnership.

sessions from classroom to trails The Symposium programs cover the broad range of trail issues, including interactive mobile workshops as well as dis- cussion sessions, poster presentations, and in-depth work- shops. The mobile workshops feature learning sessions on pathways, bikeways, and blueways of the Portland region. Attendees will also enjoy many opportunities to network with trails people from across the country and around the world. Be sure to introduce yourself to our Emerging Leaders scholarship recipients and international attendees.
