§ Environmental Education

There are a variety of teaching resources available that use the sport of sailing as a platform to teach STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and environmental education.

Program resources include*: § US Sailing Reach Initiative: 18 modules to implement in your summer program or in the shoulder seasons with school day programs or afterschool.

§ Sailors for the Sea: Kids Environmental Lesson Plans (KELP) are focused on educating students about the ocean’s influence on them and how they influence their ocean.

§ Rozalia Project: Conduct a marine debris cleanup during your program and track the data using the online app. A full lesson plan around marine debris can be found in the US Sailing Reach Program Educator Guide.
