Welcome to the ITPA Green Book 2017, now in its seventh year!


“An indispensable part of my office library,” says a long-time member. If you are coming for the first time to this much-loved publication, let me explain that what you have is a guide to the services offered by ITPA members worldwide.


The ITPA Green Book offers the first step to finding solutions to problems that lie outside your jurisdiction or expertise.


So, if you are looking for an auditor in the United Arab Emirates, you can go to Auditing on page 59, and thence to United Arab Emirates on page 61. Or if you want somebody in Portugal who knows about immigration, you can go to Immigration on page 98 and see the entry on Portugal on page 99.


If you are a long-term ITPA member, you will of course by now have a contact in many of the 70 jurisdictions where we have members – you sat next to Mr X at the Luxembourg meeting, you heard Ms Y speak in London (or at least read the summary of her talk on the website or in the ITPA News), you remember that Mr Z practised in Luxembourg, but didn’t realise he knew about ship registration there.

In the pages that follow you will find my summaries of the presentations given at our meetings in Monte-Carlo last year and in Luxembourg and London earlier this year, as well as the programmes for our meetings in Rome (6-8 November 2016) and Cyprus (26-28 March 2017) and a reminder that we shall be meeting in Monte-Carlo on 18-20 June 2017 (at – as always – the Hôtel Hermitage) and Lake Como on 22-24 October 2017. I look forward to seeing you at one or more of these meetings.


In the meanwhile, I hope you will find this year’s edition as useful as its predecessors, and on your behalf – and on behalf of all our members – I should like to thank Robert Palmer and his team for producing yet again a delightfully attractive volume.
