Well, thank you, dear Member. I should perhaps mention that there is a lot of material on our website besides the Portfolio of Laws. You might like to browse the International Trust Cases or the ECJ Cases, or take a look at some of the articles in the Year Book. But our great storehouse of information is to be found in the Summaries and Transcripts sections. There is a summary of every talk given at our conferences since 1975, and in the Transcripts section you will find the actual text of the talks given at our conferences since 1993. Of course, the most recent ones are the most up-to-date, but there are many pearls to be found in the earlier ones.


The main event of the year is our annual conference. This takes place in June. The last one was our 40th


anniversary conference in Amsterdam, and the next one will be in London in June 2016.


Our smaller and more intimate events are our two workshops. We have one in Monte-Carlo this year in October and one in Luxembourg in March of next year. One of these days, you should come to a conference or a workshop. It is not all that expensive. (You will probably find that the big cost to the firm will be not having you in the office)! And the experience will always be an interesting one – part of the interest being in what the speakers say, but a good part of the interest lying in the opportunity to meet and talk to practitioners from all over the world.


I look forward to welcoming you at one of our meetings very soon – at the Hermitage Hotel in Monte-Carlo, at the Royale in Luxembourg, at the Chelsea Harbour in London...


In the meanwhile, I hope you find this year’s edition as useful as its predecessors, and on your behalf – and on behalf of all our members – I should like to thank Robert Palmer and his team for producing yet again a delightfully attractive volume.
