June UK Departure Figures Up 241%
RECENT figures have suggested that in June, UK departure figures are expected to reach their highest level since October 2019. Over the course of June, there are 83,136 scheduled departures from UK airports, the highest figure since October 2019 when figures stood at 94,893. The statistic for flights departing from the UK this
June are up 241% when compared with June 2021, and up 823% on June 2020 figures. When compared to June 2019’s pre pandemic figures, UK departures are down only 16.4% The most popular holiday destinations are Turkey

Spain FINALLY Lift Covid Entry Requirements For Unvaxxed
THE Spanish Government announced that covid entry requirements would ease for unvaccinated adults. From Saturday 21 May, unvaccinated UK travellers
are now permitted to travel to Spain as long as proof of a negative PCR or antigen test result is presented upon arrival. PCR tests must be taken 72 hours prior to a traveller’s departure to Spain. Whereas antigen tests must be taken within the 24 hours prior to a traveller’s departure. This change means that all international visitors must
provide either a vaccination certificate, a negative PCR or antigen test result, or a certificate of recovery at least 11 days after receiving a positive test result to gain entry into Spain. Proof of vaccination can be provided either digitally or printed. Recovery certificates are valid for 180 days from the
date of a positive test result.

Barbados Remove Testing for Fully Vaxxed
AHEAD of the exciting summer season, the Government of Barbados has announced a key change to its travel protocols. Effective from Wednesday, May 25, 2022, fully-vaccinated travellers to Barbados will no longer have to take a COVID-19 test to enter the country. In a press conference, Prime Minister Mia Amor
Mottley advised that the change comes as over 70 percent of the eligible population in Barbados is fully vaccinated. She added that removing the entry test
will have positive implications for the country’s tourism experience, including speedier processing times at the Grantley Adams International Airport. Offering a brief update about the position of the country’s tourism industry, she said that “We had a ninety percent decline in the number of visitors… in the last two years.
