In New York City, a city which has population of 8.4 million and still counting, it is hard to imagine that such a busy place could have such a romantic atmosphere.


Despite the


hustle and bustle, New York City provides a romantic backdrop to share a trip with that special someone. Hopeless romantics and movie buffs will recognise that New York City provides the iconic backdrop to many of our favourite silver-screen romances. The Empire State Building is where Annie met with Sam in Sleepless in Seattle. The Washington Square Park Arch is where Sally first drops off Harry after a road- trip to New York in When Harry Met Sally. Or perhaps walk in the footsteps of Carrie Bradshaw and see the sights from her six- season TV spectacular romance with Mr Big in Sex and The City.

Life Romance is almost never like the movies but with a Valentine’s Break in New York, how could you get any closer? Central Park is one of the most romantic spots throughout the entire city, in a city of glimmering lights and stunning skylines. Quite literally, it can be a breath of fresh air to escape from the concrete jungle into a


beautiful greenery. Central Park was


actually the first landscaped park in America, modelled after the botanical areas in Paris and London. With the paths in the park mimicking the natural flow of nature, with their winding paths. In the heart of the park


stands Bethesda Fountain, one of the largest fountains in New York City. Designed by Emma Stebbins in 1868, Stebbins modelled the angel that stands at the top of Bethesdas Fountain after her partner, Charlotte Cushman. This dedication makes the fountain one of Central Park’s most romantic spots to visit, not to mention one of the most popular places for loved-up couples to pop the question to their significant other. The High Line is one of New York’s newest and most exciting attractions

The High Line is an 1.45 mile long elevated park and green way, the park was created on a former railroad and offers tourists who walk along it excellent views of the city. The route begins on Gansevoort Street up to 34th street. A bustling area located just slightly down the highland between 9th and 10th avenue is The Chelsea Market. A modern and upbeat market, tourists can visit the stalls and shops of the 50 vendors who reside in Chelsea Market. Located in NYCs’ Meatpacking District, the Chelsea Market was once the factory for the National Biscuit Company. The Chelsea Market still grounds itself in it’s industrial roots, maintaining the rustic factory feel throughout the food and retail marketplace. The market is a vibrant, diverse and a great place to spend your afternoon and put your taste buds to the test with the vast range of cuisine. Chelsea Market is a must-see location along the High Line Manhattan, especially for couples who are taking a walk along the 1.45 mile stretch to take in the sights of the wonderful city.

Line, the Amphitheater is located just above 10th avenue. This amphitheater is a series of benches which slope downwards over 10th avenue. With a series of windows, tourists can sit with a coffee or a quick bite and enjoy the sights and sounds of the iconic New York traffic. You might even be able to grab a photo opportunity with the a New York City cab!


Follow in the steps of Audrey Hepburn’s character, Holly Golightly with a trip to Tiffanys on Fifth Avenue. Valentine’s Day is the ideal time to treat yourself or your significant other to one of those iconic Tiffany blue boxes. Or if you just fancy to have acoffee or even a quick bite? There is a Blue Box Cafe opening up in 2023 for those seeking to their own breakfast at Tiffanys. If visiting New York over the Valentine’s Day period, it is almost mandatory to head out on a boat ride on the Hudson River. It doesn’t have to be a ‘splash-the-cash’ boat tour either, even the views of the New York

While most people view Valentines as a day where single-tons cannot celebrate. A new Valentine’s Day craze has begun sweeping the globe, ‘Gal-entines’ A time when you celebrate the love between friends. A sentiment which Carrie Bradshaw, one of New York’s most famous fictional characters from Sex and the City, would surely support. While many might view Mr Big as Carrie’s ultimate romance, it was her friends, Samantha, Carrie,and Miranda who were always by her side.
