WA ID 77111: Unknown wreck Dimensions: 20m x 14.8m x 2.3m


A distinct anomaly made up of two large anomalies approximately 20m apart with an oval area of disturbance amongst the regular sandwaves. The larger anomaly is a rectilinear dark reflector showing potential structure and measuring 4.8m x 1.1m x 2.3m. Second anomaly has a clear irregular and angular shadow showing a possibly upright and partly hollow structure 1.4m x 1.1m x 1.5m. An indistinct linear reflector lies to the east of the smaller anomaly. A potential wreck due to visible structure and an associated magnetic contact (71nT) indicating the presence of ferrous material. No wreck or obstruction has been recorded at this location.

The distinct remnant height suggests that some structure may remain but no clear superstructure or internal reflectors are visible. Located within an area with high sediment content it is possible that some intricate features of the wreck may have been buried. The presence of some indistinct fragmented dark reflectors surrounding the main debris demonstrates decay.
