Registered Lubricant Professional Accreditation for Individual achievement from the UKLA

If you are serious about your career then Registered Lubricant Professional could be for you.

Backed by the United Kingdom Lubricants Association (UKLA), Registered Lubricant Professional provides a professional designation recognising your commitment to maintaining your skills at the very highest levels.

The Registered Lubricant Professional (RLP) scheme provides a fully-flexible frame work that accredits your continuing professional development; whether you are studying formal qualifications or even mentoring a colleague in your own company.

Developed specifically for individuals working in UKLA member companies, the RLP scheme comprises eight categories allowing individuals to devise and develop their own professional development scheme within a broad and structured framework of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

CDP categories range from recognising and rewarding formal qualifications from recognised institutions, attending courses such as UKLA’s range of seminars, undertaking in-house courses held by your company, imparting knowledge through research papers or even participating as a panel or Board member in the Verification of Lubricant Specifications (VLS), attending conferences and exhibitions such as the UEIL Congress, imparting knowledge to others through presentations or speeches, and even undertaking your own private study.

This broad framework allows you to fit individual accreditation available through the RLP programme around your own professional development needs recognised through your company’s performance management arrangements. The RLP programme does not prescribe what you have to do but instead allows you to create your own tailored, flexible professional development programme within an industry-recognised and accredited scheme.

Individuals joining the RLP programme will be expected to have successfully completed the UKLA’s Certificate in Lubricant Competence (CLC) programme and commit to 35 hours of Continuing Professional Development each year. In return individuals will participate in the only dedicated cross-industry scheme that recognises and accredits individuals who commit to developing and maintaining their knowledge, skills and capabilities in effective lubricant practice.

Over time as recognition within the sector for the Registered Lubricant Professional programme grows, the UKLA aims to encourage employers and recruitment companies to seek out and actively recruit those individuals holding this prestigious accreditation.
